Let me first say that I have had such an amazing time working with Laura & Canon. Their personalities are incredible, as is their love for each other. You don’t have to be around them long to realize that not only are they in love with each other, but they’re best friends as well. Joe & I interact with couples all the time, and I can honestly say that what Laura & Canon have is something very rare, and we truly enjoyed every moment we got to spend with them throughout the past year.
Laura’s sister made a toast at their wedding, and I remember her saying something about her experience at Laura’s bachelorette party. She described how amazing it was to be around all of Laura’s closest friends and how she loved being immersed in “Laura’s world”. When Joe & I were photographing their wedding, we felt a piece of that. We are so thankful to have gotten the opportunity to meet so many great family members and friends. With the talent of The Conspiracy Band and the ideal setting at Longaberger Country Club, this was truly an event to remember.

I loved seeing the shots Joe took of our engagement pictures displayed in their guest book!

having some fun with the formals…

It was just a little chilly, but I’m SO glad we took 15 minutes to walk around Granville for a mini photo shoot of just Laura & Canon.

I think the next picture is my all-time favorite action series. I tear up every time I look through the pictures. This is Laura’s reaction when Canon revealed the surprise honeymoon he had planned…

Laura & Canon, you guys are great! I can’t say enough what an amazing couple you are. Thank you so much for allowing us to document your day. Keep in touch!

Check out these colors! I love fall portraits, and the Fantine family was a wonderful group to go exploring through the woods with at Inniswood Gardens. I hope you enjoy a few of my favorites from our early evening shoot!

Laura and Canon’s beautiful wedding will be on the blog soon!

Round one of this photo shoot didn’t go so well. It will forever be embedded in my brain that 40-some degrees is too cold for a 2-year-old to have any part in taking outdoor pictures! Round two took place the next day…about 15 degrees warmer. As you can see, Kaliopi had a great time and the photo shoot went beautifully!

I know Louie didn’t ask to be in any shots, but this is precious.

This last picture is 1 of 2 shots taken during “round 1″!

Thanks Vickie & Louie! You guys were great and I look forward to working together again over the next year.

I love photographing children, especially when the parents are happy to let them be themselves. We started this shoot with a little soccer before exploring other parts of the park. I hope the kids had as much fun as I did!

Oh, the many faces of Michael! He got so into our little game of Simon Says…what a cutie.

a little brotherly love…

Ok, this last one I just can’t leave out. It’s just too funny not to share. Lady’s & gentlemen, I believe I have captured the youngest person ever to flick off his brothers! LOL

Amy & Steve, thank you so much for allowing me to photograph your children just as they are. You have a beautiful family and I greatly enjoyed meeting you all!

Last weekend I took a break from preparing for my first ladies only photography workshop to get some updated portraits of my kids. I spend so much time photographing other families and children that it’s been nearly 2 years since I had some new pictures done for our walls. Deciding where to go wasn’t too tough…my boys are always skateboarding so an urban, Tony-Hawk-inspired, skater theme fit them perfectly. We found an empty lot and started shooting!
Here’s a preview of some of my favorites…

You’d better hope you never run into this gang in a dark alley. LOL

There’s a new addition to the McBrayer family!

Thank you for spending your morning with me and for trusting me with your family portraits once again! I have so greatly enjoyed working with you guys.

…
Marisen…isn’t that a cute name? It’s so unique, I love it.
Photographing kids & babies is one of my favorite things to do. They (usually) aren’t programmed yet with the “sit up straight like a soldier and smile”, so I’m able to capture the essence of who they are. This shoot was so fun. I took these right in the comfort of their own home, so it was very relaxed. We even took a couple breaks when Marisen needed to eat. …And I can’t say enough how EXTRA fun it is to work with other creative people! Steve & Marti, you guys are great! Thank you so much for trusting me with your daughter’s newborn photos.
I hope you enjoy a few of my favorites…

This next one is so special. Steve & Marti told me they used to play scrabble all the time when they were dating, and that Steve even proposed using scrabble pieces. This was our way of carrying on the tradition!
